Weight loss technique that is as effective as it is enjoyable

For people who are worried about their weight, there is good news: experts have found a weight-loss method that is just as successful as the Ozempic medication.

Celebrities have long defended the diabetes medication as a shortcut to rapid weight loss, but it was just recently discovered that dancing might be just as successful.

Being overweight but unhealthy is the state of obesity. It is especially risky because it raises the possibility of developing numerous other illnesses, such as those affecting the heart, brain, and other essential organs.

Researchers studied 646 overweight or obese persons between the ages of 21 and 71 (114 males and 532 women), according to a new study that was published in the journal Plos One.

According to the research, 321 participants who regularly attended at least three times a week for four weeks at dancing programs like Zumba, step aerobics, or other traditional dances reported a "meaningful improvement" in their body fat and waist circumference.

A better physique and body composition, including the proportions of fat, muscle, and bone, were also noted in those under 45.

After analyzing the total dropout rate, scientists concluded that dancing might be “effectively advocated as a viable fat loss programmed” because it releases serotonin, the happy hormone, which makes exercise more pleasurable than other traditional kinds of physical activity.

"Conventional exercise (such as running, cycling, and swimming) is excessively monotonous, posing challenges for adherence," the researchers noted in their report.

"Dancing is an effective way to exercise that uses multiple joints and has a high level of entertainment value, which makes it easier for people to form exercise habits."

"The results showed that dance exhibits a significant effect on the improvement of body composition among people with overweight and obesity when compared to the normal lifestyle," they continued.

"Dance showed the ability to effectively reduce body mass, body mass index, waist circumference, body fat percentage, and body fat in kilograms, which was consistent with earlier research findings," the meta-analysis stated.
